I am not an accountant, but this type of billing seems very prisonesque:

As long as you have canceled your numbers, you should be good to go. Please note that we bill in the rear though, so any services used this past month will be billed to you this coming month.

This is from an email that I received yesterday after cancelling service with a company that shall remain nameless. Ouch.
