Stabilizing

The nurse just said that Doug is still stabilizing in recovery.  They are hoping that he will be coming up within the hour.

Izaak is oscillating between consciousness and morphine la-la-land.  As a joke, we put his hand in warm water, but his catheter spoiled any of our fun.  At first I thought someone had played a nasty joke by cutting his hair in surgery but then we realized that it was just the “curly eagle” gone wild.

    Hey Jere
    Am I missing it or is there a time on the updates? If not, would you put the times on the updates? Like I said, I might be missing it–if so, forgive me, you can bust my chops later.
    Anyway, it was great to be up there with you guys today–seeing everyone, praying, helping Audrey write her alphabet. But the the best parts were seeing Izaak looking all drugged up but stable, and when we got the news that Doug was making urine with the “new” kiney! (I actually almost wet myself over that.) God bless you guys, and please continue to keep us updated.

    This is an exciting day. Much thanks to you Jeremy for the blogging. I was able to run down to a hot spot in the cafeteria at Park West Hospital and catch updates. Hooray for e-community. Although, I wish that Rita and I had the opportunity to be with everyone on this miracle day. It is wonderful to see The Creator’s hand in such a tangible way. There may be challenging days of adjustment ahead for many, but for now we can absolutely rejoice!
