Chillin’

Kathie just called.  Izaak’s surgery is complete.  The kidney is beautiful (will post pictures when we get them).  Dr. Granadas stitched Izaak, and he will be going into recovery within the next 30 minutes.

The kidney is chillin’ in a tub where they are flushing it through the renal artery.  For kidneys they use Evian, not Aquafina.

Dr. Granadas is preparing to make the incision and they will be attaching the kidney within the next 30 minutes.

GOOD NEWS!

    Hi all,

I wanted to let you know I’m with you in prayer here. (I’m at a design conference in Las Vegas…)

Thanks for the blog J. I was not enjoying being away during this momentous occasion! So it’s sort of like being with you in the hospital waiting room…without the uncomfortable chairs (and I have a casino overhead.)

Love to Doug and all the family. (Including Izaak’s — what an example he is of the love of Christ!)

We are praying for you and are looking forward (Brad) to seeing you later today.

Izaak, well done, good and faithful friend!!! Doug should be recieving the kidney even as we write. Blessings and love!!!

Doug is such an inspiration to anyone who meets him. God’s grace shines thru his whole being. I hardly know Doug but I can see he is truly a special servant of God. Izzack you are special also. God is telling His story with this unique situation and friendship between you and Doug. May God continue to bless you both and your families thru the rest of the surgery and recovery.

    In Prayer,
    Dan Frye
